FSP Membership Meeting Recap “Economic and Market Outlook 2019”

Rob Holton, MBA and  President of FSP Milwaukee Chapter had this to say about our last membership meeting held at the University Club on January 15, 2019

“We were pleased to host Jason Herried, CFA, Senior Vice President and Wealth Portfolio Manager for Johnson Financial Group.  Jason also serves as the Director of Equity Strategy and is a member of the firm’s Investment Committee with 19 years of experience in the financial services industry, 17 of which are directly in the investment area.  He has experience managing portfolios for high net worth individuals, families, non-profits and retirement plans.

Jason touched on several key topics to consider for investment management for 2019 and began with an overview of the economy from both a cycle and structural growth perspective. Though he noted investors woke up to volatility in 2018, they remain cautiously optimistic on US stocks after the late 2018 decline. He also indicated interest rates may have set their peak for the cycle, which would be constructive for bonds as well. He did share return expectations over the next 10 years likely to be below historical averages. Jason finished with a review of key demographic drivers and their impact on the economy and politics.”
